This is an air release for many cameras with a standard (mechanical) connection, including most 35mm and medium format models, large format lenses and some modern digital cameras.

An air release is used to reduce vibration and camera shake, usually with the camera mounted on a tripod or other support. By squeezing the bulb on the end of the release instead of the camera's shutter release directly, less vibration is transmitted to the camera and potential shake is reduced. Long releases like this one are ideal for wildlife photography and many other subjects where you need to conceal yourself some distance from the camera. Of course, a camera with motorised wind-on is preferred so you don't need to wind the film manually after each shot.

The air release screws into the socket in the shutter release of most suitable cameras (some models have the socket elsewhere), with a rotating end for easy attachment and removal. This one is around 20 feet (over 6m) long.

The release is in fully working order and very good condition. It fits well and operates smoothly. Cosmetically it shows just normal signs of use with some surface marks here and there, but no kinks, splits or other damage.

The packaging is showing signs of age but complete, and overall it's in nice shape!

Compatibility
This release screws into the standard socket in the shutter release of most mechanical cameras, and some modern ones. This type of fitting has been used for generations on 35mm, medium format and large format cameras and lenses. It can be recognized by a small socket (around 4mm or 0.15 inches across), with a tapered internal thread.

Not suitable for some early Leica and Nikon cameras (which used an external screw-on fitting), or cameras that accept electrical releases. Please contact us if you have any questions about compatibility with your equipment.
