This is an auto extension tube, which fits between your SLR camera and lens for extra close focusing (macro) shots. It's suitable for all SLR cameras and lenses with the Rollei/Voigtlander bayonet mount (see below).

The tube gives 28mm extension. With a 50mm standard lens, this will provide a macro reproduction ratio of slightly greater than 1:2 (one half life size). This is better than most macro zoom lenses, and as good as many dedicated macro lenses, filling the frame with subjects around 48x72mm (2x3 inches), and is ideal for photographing many small subjects.

Even greater magnification is available with wider angle lenses - around full life size (1:1) with a 28mm lens. Longer lenses offer lower magnification, but more comfortable working distances. It's a useful addition to many 135mm, 200mm and 300mm telephoto lenses, which usually don't focus very close.

The tube retains the fully automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering of the original camera and lens combination (where appropriate), so is fast and easy to use, with no extra manual procedures required. Compatible with manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes where available (see below) on suitable cameras. TTL metering systems will take care of the required exposure correction automatically.

This Makinon No. 2 Auto Extension Tube is very well made (in Japan), with a metal body and front/rear mounts, rubber grip and a high standard of fit and finish. It will not disgrace your camera outfit.

An excellent close up accessory for Rollei/Voigtlander users!

Condition: Mint- (almost as new)
A very nice extension tube, in fully working order. All couplings work properly (checked on our SL35E with 50/1.8 Planar). Cosmetically, it's in excellent condition. The black finish is smooth, with only some very small signs of handling, including minor marks where lenses and cameras have been attached.

No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall it's in great shape!

Compatibility
Rollei/Voigtlander QBM (Quick Bayonet Mount) fitting, suitable for the Rollei and Rolleiflex bayonet-mount 35mm SLRs, including the SL35, SL350, SL35M, SL35ME, SL35E, SL2000F and 3003. Fits the bayonet mount (BM) versions of the Voigtlander VSL1, VSL2 Automatic and VSL3E (Vitoflex E). Compatible with Rollei, Voigtlander and independent lenses in QBM fitting.

NOT suitable for the screw mount (TM) versions of Voigtlander cameras, older types such as the Bessamatic and Ultramatic, the recent Voigtlander Bessaflex (which has an M42 screw lens mount) or any other makes.
