This is an excellent auto bounce zoom flashgun for many Canon, Chinon, Minolta, Olympus and Pentax manual focus SLR cameras (but not digital models - see below). It's ideal for photographers with more than one type of classic SLR camera.
A sliding switch sets the flash to work with each type of camera, and with suitable models (see the Compatibility section below) the shutter speed will be set automatically when the flash is charged, and a ready light will appear in the camera's viewfinder. There's also a standard setting for non-dedicated use on other cameras.
The bounce flash head tilts up to 45, 65 and 90 degrees for bounce flash, which gives much softer, more natural lighting than direct flash. Zoom flash head adjusts for wide angle (35mm), normal (50mm) and telephoto (85mm and longer) lenses, giving wider coverage or greater range as appropriate.
Useful guide numbers are 34m (110ft) at the tele setting, 30m (100 feet) at standard and 25m (84 feet) at wide angle, with ISO 100 film. This gives a theoretical maximum range of around 27m (57 feet) with ISO 100 film and 50mm f/1.7 lens, and even further with faster films. As with all flashguns, actual range will depend on the conditions.
Two auto exposure modes are available giving ranges of up to 11.5m (37 feet) at f/2.8, or 8m (26 feet) at f/4 with ISO 100 film, at the telephoto setting. Full manual option provided. Thyristor circuitry used in auto modes for faster recycling and more flashes per set of batteries. Comprehensive control panel on the rear of the flash provides distances from 1.1 to 18m (3.6 to 60 feet), apertures from f/1.4 to f/22 and film speeds from ISO 25 to 1600. Ready light, plus auto check light confirms correct exposure after the shot has been taken.
This independent Miranda 700CD flashgun is nicely made, quite compact at around 120mm (4.75 inches) tall on the camera and weighs only around 240g (without batteries). Power is provided by 4x standard disposable alkaline AA batteries (included). Standard hot shoe fitting with locking ring for secure mounting, and the electrical contacts are retracted when the ring is in the unlocked position.

An excellent flash for many manual focus SLR users!
Condition: Excellent++ (8/10)
The flash is in good condition and fully working order. All controls work positively, and it's been tested on suitable film cameras. Cosmetically it shows just the usual surface scratches and scrapes here and there in the plastic finish. The battery contacts are slightly marked, but have been cleaned and work fine. Overall, it's in good shape! At the time of listing we have more than one of this item, but the pictures and description here are representative of all of them.
Includes new Alkaline batteries

Please note that this flash unit is not suitable for digital cameras. Some 700CD flashes work on digital and some don't - ours have been tested and those listed here will not fire reliably on most digital models.
