This is a set of genuine Canon extension tubes which fit between your SLR camera and lens for extra close focusing (macro) shots, up to 1:1 (life size) or even better. They're suitable for many Canonflex, FL and FD manual focus cameras including popular models such as the FT, FTb, F-1, EF and many others (see full list below), but not EOS models or the EF-M. Adapters are available (not included) for these and other digital cameras, with R, FL or some FD lenses only - see the Compatibility section below for more details.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The tubes are completely manual and have no couplings to stop the lens down. Therefore the lens most have some means of closing the diaphragm itself. Canon R and FL lenses all have a manual diaphragm ring. Earlier Canon breech lock FD lenses and some independent FD types can be stopped down by either pushing the diaphragm lever all the way across until it locks, or using the locking lever provided. Later breech lock lenses and the New FD (bayonet) lenses do not have these features, and will only work at full aperture unless you use a Canon Manual Diaphragm Adapter (NOT included).
Four tubes are supplied - one M5 (5mm), one M10 (10mm) and two M20 (20mm) - and they can be used singly or together. The longer the extension used, the closer you'll get. With a 50mm or 55mm standard lens, three or four tubes will get you to 1:1 (life size). This is as good as most dedicated macro lenses, filling the frame with a subject as small as 24x36mm (1x1.5 inches), and is ideal for photographing many small objects such as coins, stamps, insects, etc. Even greater magnification is available with some slightly wider angle lenses. Longer lenses offer lower magnification, but more comfortable working distances.
The tubes require manual diaphragm operation, with stopped down metering where available. TTL metering systems (including TTL flash on the T90) will take care of the required exposure corrections automatically. This Canon Extension Tube M Set is solidly made (in Japan), with metal barrels and lens mounts and a high standard of fit and finish. Breech lock fitting for Canon R, FL and some FD cameras and lenses (see below).
An essential close up set for Canon manual focus users and collectors!
Condition: Excellent++ (8/10)
The tubes are in fully working order and good condition. There are no coupling levers so there is very little to go wrong, but the breech lock mounts fit well and lock securely. Cosmetically there are only the normal signs of use with some scratches and scrapes here and there, plus some paint wear on the mounts where cameras and lenses have been fitted.
No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall they're in good shape!
At the time of listing we have more than one of this item, but the pictures and description here are representative of all of them.

Canon manual focus lenses and accessories do not fit the autofocus EOS cameras or the EF-M, the EX-EE or EX-Auto, or any other makes. Adapters are available (not included) for EOS cameras and the EF-M, Panasonic Lumix G, Olympus Pen and other Micro Four Thirds, Pentax Q, Sony NEX and Samsung NX digital cameras. They work with manual focusing and manual diaphragm, in manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes. They're only suitable for R, FL or some FD manual lenses (see restrictions above), and not AF or digital ones.
