This is an original Canon FD 25 auto extension tube which fits between your SLR camera and lens for extra close focusing (macro) shots. It's suitable for all Canon FD and FL manual focus cameras and lenses (see below), but not for the EOS autofocus models or the EF-M. Adapters are available (not included) for these, plus some Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony digital cameras, using FD or FL lenses only.

The tube is 25mm long, so will give you half life size (1:2) reproduction with a 50mm standard lens. Even greater magnification is available with wider angle lenses - almost 1:1 (life size) with a 28mm lens! This is as good as some dedicated macro lenses, and better than most zooms, filling the frame with a subject as small as 48x72mm (2x3 inches) with a 50mm lens, and is ideal for photographing many small objects. Longer lenses offer lower magnification, but more comfortable working distances. Used with the Canon FD 50mm macro lens, magnification is increased from 1:2 to 1:1 (life size).

The tube retains the fully automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering of the original camera and lens combination (where appropriate), so is fast and easy to use, with no extra manual procedures required. Compatible with all exposure modes, including auto where available. TTL metering systems (including TTL flash on the T90) will take care of the required exposure correction automatically.

This Canon extension tube is very nicely made (in Japan), with a solid, metal body and mounts, and a very high standard of fit and finish. Breech lock fitting for Canon FD and FL cameras (see below), compatible with FL, FD and New FD lenses.

The tube is in fully working order, with all linkages working correctly. Cosmetically, it has a smooth black finish and clean paintwork. There is only the usual evidence that it's been used, with some marks around the breech lock ring and rear mount, a small ding and some surface scratches and scrapes here and there, etc.

The caps are in good condition, and overall it's in good shape!

Compatibility
This tube fits all Canon FD manual focus cameras including the F-1 (all versions), FTb, FTbN, EF, TLb, TX, AE-1, AT-1, A-1, AV-1, AE-1 Program, AL-1, T50, T60, T70, T80 (manual focus only) and T90. It accepts Canon FD lenses including the original breech lock models, and the later New FD bayonet types. Automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering, compatible with all exposure modes, including manual, aperture priority, shutter priority and program on appropriate models.

It also fits the earlier Canon FL models including the FT, FP, FX, TL, Pellix and others, with stopped down metering using FL or FD lenses.

FD lenses and accessories do not fit the autofocus EOS cameras or the EF-M, the EX-EE or EX-Auto, or any other makes. Adapters are available (not included) for EOS cameras and the EF-M, Panasonic Lumix G, Olympus Pen and other Micro Four Thirds, Sony NEX and Samsung NX digital cameras. They work with manual focusing and manual diaphragm, in manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes. Only suitable for FD and FL manual lenses, and not AF or digital ones.
