This is a Canon Power Winder A (auto winder) for the company's classic A-series manual focus 35mm SLR cameras - see the full list below. It gives continuous winding at up to 2 frames per second, depending on the shutter speed. You can also take single frames by simply removing your finger from the shutter release after each picture.

Automatic film advance is often preferred for many types of photography, particularly sports, wildlife, action and even subjects which don't move very fast, but do change quickly - portraits, children, etc. LED indicator on the rear lights when winding, and the motor stops at the end of the film.

Powered by 4x standard disposable AA batteries (included), which are inexpensive and easily obtainable. They fit into the Battery Pack A (supplied), which is easily removable to change batteries. Typical high quality Canon construction - made in Japan. The winder adds under 35mm (1.5 inches) to the height of the camera, and weighs only 220g without batteries. Built-in tripod socket. Storage for the winder cover from the camera's base plate. Rewind button so film can be rewound manually without removing the winder.

Compatibility
This winder fits Canon A-series manual focus SLR cameras only. Compatible models are the Canon AE-1, AT-1, AL-1, AV-1, AE-1 Program (AE-1P) and A-1.

It will not fit any other models such as the F-1 range or T-series (some of which accept different winders or motor drives), EOS models, digital cameras or any other makes or models.
