This is Chinon's own winder for many of the company's PK mount SLR cameras (see below), including the popular CE-4 and CE-5 ranges. It's in fully working order and good condition, supplied with Alkaline batteries.

The winder provides motorised film transport at up to 2 frames per second, depending on the shutter speed. This is ideal for fast moving subjects such as sports, children and even portraits where you want to take another picture quickly as the subject changes expression. It also means you don't need to take the camera away from your eye to wind on - especially useful for people who use their left eye for viewing. Choice of single shot or continuous winding modes. An off setting is provided so the camera can be wound manually even with the auto winder attached.

Integral grip with shutter release improves handling, especially with large, heavy lenses. Built in tripod socket. Rewind lever so film can be rewound manually without removing the winder. There's a remote control socket for a standard electrical cable with 2.5mm plug (not supplied). The winder screws into the camera's tripod socket, adding only 30mm (under 1.2 inches) to the overall height, and 240g to the weight (without batteries). Powered by 4x standard AA batteries including disposable alkaline (supplied) or rechargeable NiCd or NiMH types, which are inexpensive and easily obtainable.

If you're still using one of these classic cameras (or are thinking of acquiring one) don't miss this nice example of an auto winder. An excellent winder for Chinon users!

Condition: Excellent++ (8/10)
The winder is in good condition, and fully working order. All controls operate positively. The finish is good with just the usual signs of use, including some surface scratches and scrapes here and there, mainly on the base. One leatherette panel is missing from the rear, and one locating pin missing from the top, but these have no effect on operation or handling. The battery contacts are slightly marked (not corroded) but work fine.

No cracks, splits or deep scratches, and overall it's in good shape!

Compatibility
This winder is suitable for the Chinon CE-4, CE-4S, CE-5 and CG-5. It also fits the CM-5, but with single shot only using the camera's shutter release, and no remote control facility. It also fits these Chinon models sold under other names, including the Agfa Selectronic 3 and Alpa Si 3000 (CE-4).

Not suitable for the CP-series Chinon cameras (which require the winder to supply battery power for the camera too), any other models, or other makes of camera.
