This is a great little flashgun with auto or manual exposure control, suitable for many cameras with a standard hot shoe connection. This includes many modern digital models, such as popular types from companies such as Fujifilm and Panasonic (see the Compatibility Information section below), and even most digital SLRs in manual mode, as it has a low, safe trigger voltage. The flash is in good condition with instructions, and new batteries are supplied.

The guide number is 15 (meters) and 50 (feet) with ISO 100, and the flash covers lenses down to 35mm (or equivalent). Theoretical maximum range is up to 7.5m (25 feet) with an f/2 lens and ISO 100, and even further with higher ISO speeds or faster lenses. As with all flash units, actual range will depend on the conditions. The auto exposure mode uses an aperture of f/2.8 with ISO 100, up to 5.7m (17 feet).

The flash has a comprehensive set of exposure scales with apertures from f/1 to f/45, distances from 0.9 to 7.5m and 3 to 25 feet, plus film speeds from ISO (ASA) 25 to 1000 and DIN 15 to 31. There's a flash ready light with test button, and an auto check light confirms correct exposure.

This independent Cobra Auto 150 flash is powered by four standard AA batteries which are inexpensive and easily obtainable, and a set of disposable alkaline types is supplied. It's very compact at only around 95mm (4 inches) tall on the camera, and lightweight at just 115g without batteries.

The flash is in fully working order and good condition. There are just the usual signs of normal use (but not abuse), including some surface scratches and scrapes here and there in the plastic finish. The battery contacts are slightly marked (not corroded) and work fine. No cracks, splits or deep scratches, and overall it's in good shape! At the time of listing we have more than one of this item, but the pictures and description here are representative of all of them.

Compatibility
This flash has the standard flash shoe with electrical connection, which fits cameras with a hot shoe. These connections have been fitted to cameras for generations, including many 35mm SLR and rangefinder cameras, medium format models and even many modern digital cameras with a standard (single pin) hot shoe such as the popular Fujifilm S20 Pro, S7000, S602, S602 Pro and 6900Z, Panasonic DMC-FZ10, FZ20, FZ30, FZ50 (with non-dedicated operation) and DMC-LC5, Pentax EI-2000 (HP C912) and EI-3000, and many others. Usable on models such as the Fujifilm S9500, S9600, S200EXR and HS10, but the flash will only cover zoom settings down to 35mm (equivalent). It can be used on most digital SLRs (except Konica Minolta and Sony), with non-dedicated operation.

NOTE: Many older flashguns have high trigger voltages - sometimes hundreds of volts - which can theoretically damage modern electronic cameras. We've tested this flash and it has a low trigger voltage of under 5v, which should be suitable for all cameras. This is well within the ISO 10330 standard of 24v, and even the most voltage intolerant cameras such as some Canon EOS specify up to 6v.
