This original Minolta flashgun is the model made especially for the early Minolta AF SLR cameras (the 5000, 7000 and 9000) but not later models from the 7000i onwards - see below - and comes with instructions and batteries.

The guide number is 28 (m) and 92 (feet) with ISO 100 film. Quoted range up to 20m (65 feet) with 50mm f/1.4 lens and ISO 100 film, but as with all flashguns, actual range will depend on the conditions. The flash covers all lenses down to 35mm.

TTL (Through The Lens) automatic exposure system for extremely accurate exposures. Works automatically in all exposure modes, including Program. Automatic fill-in flash in daylight, including slow sync flash in aperture priority mode on the Minolta 7000 and 9000. Hi and Low power settings - the latter avoids over-exposure close up, and dramatically reduces recycling times. The camera's exposure compensation control can also be used for flash as required.

Works in the camera's autofocus mode, and has a large AF illuminator on the front to assist focusing in low light. This operates automatically when required, up to around 5m (16 feet). Comprehensive control panel on the rear, with film speeds from ISO 25 to 1000, apertures and distances from 0.7 to 30m (3 to 90 feet). Flash ready and exposure OK indicators. The flash is extremely well made (in Japan), and feels much more solid than many independent flash units. Takes 4x standard AA batteries, including disposable alkaline (supplied) or rechargeable types. Auto shutoff to conserve battery power.

An excellent flash for early Minolta AF users!

Condition: Excellent++ (8/10)
The flash is in fully working order, and has been checked on our Minolta 7000AF. It's in good condition with just the usual signs of use, including some small scratches (mainly around the hot shoe) and surface scrapes in the plastic finish. The battery contacts are marked (not corroded) but work fine.

No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall it's in good shape!
At the time of listing we have more than one of this item, but the pictures and description here are representative of all of them.

Compatibility
This flash is suitable for the Minolta 5000, 7000 and 9000 AF SLR cameras ONLY, with conventional hot shoe fitting.

It will NOT fit the later Maxxum, Dynax or Alpha models (such as the 5000i and 7000i) with Minolta's new type of flash shoe, though there was a Minolta adapter available (not included).

NOT suitable for Minolta, Konica Minolta or Sony Alpha digital cameras, manual focus cameras, or any other make.
