This Canon Grip (with Tripod) offers improved balance and handling, plus a built in camera support and hand strap for the EOS 300, Rebel 2000 and Kiss III 35mm SLR cameras (but not any other models - see below. The grip screws into the camera's tripod socket, adding around 40mm (1.5 inches) of height. This makes the camera easier to handle for many people, especially those with larger hands who find modern cameras "too small". The extra size and weight can help with steadiness, too, especially with larger telephoto or zoom lenses, reducing camera shake.

The built in mini tripod provides excellent support for the camera at slow shutter speeds, or when using the self timer. The three legs open out and lock in position, holding the camera around 90mm (4 inches) above the surface it's placed on. A ball-and-socket joint with lock allows for leveling on uneven surfaces, and rotates through 90 degrees for improved balance. Please note that the tripod is only suitable for small, lightweight lenses such as the 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6, 50mm f/1.8, etc. Larger or heavier types will make it unstable, and shouldn't be used.

An adjustable hand strap is provided, and this loops through the strap brackets on the grip and camera. It makes the camera easier to hold securely, especially when used one-handed. This is a genuine Canon grip, very well made from high quality materials, and weighs around 275g. It has a guide pin to hold it securely in position on the camera.

Compatibility
Fits the Canon EOS 300, Rebel 2000 and Kiss III 35mm SLR cameras ONLY.

It's not suitable for EOS models other than those listed above (such as the EOS 300V or 300X), as there's a guide pin on top of the grip which slots into a corresponding hole in the bottom of compatible cameras. This pin will prevent it locating properly on other models.
