This is an original Nikon HN-CP10 lens hood with filter thread to fit the Coolpix 5400 digital camera (but not other models). A lens hood provides shading for the front element of your lens, excluding extraneous light which can cause unwanted reflections, flare and loss of contrast.

The hood is solidly constructed (in Japan) yet lightweight at only around 40g, and made from metal with a matt black finish inside to reduce reflections. It measures around 36mm (1.5 inches) long, and 80mm (3.25 inches) in diameter, mounts onto the special screw thread fitting around the base of the lens, and has a standard 77mm screw thread on the front for filters and other accessories. This is useful as the camera doesn't accept filters directly, because of the extending lens.

The lens hood is in excellent condition with only small signs of handling. The box is showing signs of age, but complete. No dents, dings or deep scratches, the screw threads are undamaged, and overall it's in great shape!

Compatibility
This hood fits the Nikon Coolpix 5400 digital camera ONLY, as it uses a dedicated screw thread fitting used only on this camera.

Not suitable for any other Nikon Coolpix cameras, digital SLRs, or any other makes or models.

The screw thread on the front accepts filters and accessories with a standard 77mm screw thread. Please note that some filters (especially thicker types) and converters may cause vignetting (darkening at the edges or corners of the pictures), though adjusting the zoom setting may improve this.
