This unusual lens is suitable for the Olympus OM-707 (OM77) AF (Auto Focus) and OM-101 (OM88) PF (Power Focus) SLR cameras (see below). It's in excellent condition, and boxed with original lens caps. Olympus lenses like this one for these cameras are now very hard to find, and while manual focus OM lenses can be used, they have many restrictions. This lens is fully compatible with all focusing and exposure modes on these cameras. Please note that Olympus AF lenses are not compatible with manual focus OM cameras, or OM lens adapters for other makes.

Even if you already have zoom lenses, a fast standard lens like this one is an essential purchase. Compared to a typical f/3.5-f/4.5 standard zoom, it's smaller, lighter and gives a brighter image in the viewfinder and much faster shutters speeds in low light. In lighting conditions that would require 1/8th of a second at f/4 on a zoom (guaranteed camera shake territory!), this lens could be used much more successfully at 1/45th of a second and f/1.8.

Maximum aperture is a fast f/1.8, and the lens stops down to f/22 for maximum depth of field. Auto diaphragm and full aperture metering on all Olympus AF and PF cameras, compatible with all exposure and metering modes. Close focusing to 0.45m (18 inches). Distances are marked clearly in feet and meters, plus depth of field scale and infra red index. This is an auto focus lens, but is also usable on the Power Focus cameras (see below).

Multicoated (MC) glass for reduced flare against the light and increased contrast, plus a tiny retractable lens hood to reduce flare even further, though this is loose on this particular lens. Standard, compact 49mm screw thread for filters and other accessories. This does not rotate when focusing, which makes the lens much easier to use with polarizing, graduated or square filters and other accessories. The lens is very compact - only 32mm (1.25 inches) long on the camera at infinity - and weighs a mere 175g! It's very nicely made (in Japan), with a metal lens mount, clear markings in multiple colours and a high standard of fit and finish.

Condition: Mint- (almost as new)
The lens is in excellent condition and fully working order. The diaphragm stops down smartly and is free of oil. Focusing has been tested, and works fine. The glass is very clean with no scratches, misting, fungus or other problems, apart from some tiny specks of dust as usual, which won't affect the pictures at all. Cosmetically it's in lovely condition with a smooth black finish, clean paintwork and no dents or deep scratches, but just some minor surface marks here and there in the finish. The box is showing some signs of age, but the lens caps are in good condition. The JCII "Passed" quality control sticker is still in place, the filter thread is undamaged, and overall it's in great shape! Pictures in this listing show the actual item offered for sale.

Olympus AF lenses like this one fit the OM-707 (OM-77AF) auto focus SLR camera, with automatic or power manual focusing, compatible with all exposure modes, including program, and full viewfinder information. They also fit the Olympus OM-101 (OM-88), with power manual focusing, compatible with all exposure modes, including program, and full viewfinder information.

Olympus AF/PF lenses and accessories do NOT work on the manual focus OM SLR cameras, the Pen F series, the screw thread FTL, the digital E-series, FourThirds DSLRs, any other models or any other make of camera. Adapters for OM lenses on other cameras are not suitable for AF/PF lenses.
