This is an original Konica lens hood to fit the Hexanon AR 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom lens (with 55mm filter thread) for the company's classic manual focus 35mm SLR cameras. It won't fit other versions of the 35-70mm lens, but is suitable for some other lenses (see below).

A lens hood provides shading for the front element of your lens, excluding extraneous light which can cause unwanted reflections, flare and loss of contrast. The hood is very lightweight at under 10g, and made from plastic with a ribbed matt black finish inside. It measures around 15mm (0.6 inches) long, 72mm (2.8 inches) in diameter, and screws into the 55mm filter thread at the front of the lens.

Compatibility
This hood is designed for the Konica Hexanon AR 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom lens, with 55mm filter thread. It's not suitable for other Hexanon 35-70mm zooms such as the f/3.5 or f/4 versions, which have different thread sizes.

It's also suitable for many other lenses with the standard 55mm filter thread and focal lengths of 35mm and above (or the equivalent on other formats).
