This is a pair of genuine Minolta auto extension tubes, which fit between your SLR camera and lens for extra close focusing (macro) shots, up to 1:1 (life size) or even better. They fit the classic Minolta manual focus SLR cameras including the SRT range plus X and XG models and many more (see below for list), and are in nice condition with front and rear caps, plus instructions.

Two tubes are supplied - 21mm and 28mm long - and they can be used singly or together. The longer the extension used, the closer you'll get. With a 50mm standard lens both tubes will get you to 1:1 (life size). This is at least as good as most dedicated macro lenses, filling the frame with a subject as small as 24x36mm (1x1.5 inches), and is ideal for photographing many small objects such as coins, stamps, insects, etc. Even greater magnification is available with wider angle lenses. Longer lenses offer lower magnification, but more comfortable working distances.

The tubes retain the automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering of the original camera and lens combination (where appropriate), so are fast and easy to use, with no extra manual procedures required. Compatible with manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes where available. TTL metering systems (including TTL flash) will take care of the required exposure correction automatically. These Minolta MC Auto Extension tubes are very solidly made (in Japan), with metal barrels and lens mounts, and a high standard of fit and finish. They weigh around 280g and will not disgrace your camera outfit.

The tubes are in fully working order, with all linkages working correctly. Cosmetically they look good with a stylish black and chrome finish and clean paintwork. There is only the usual evidence that they've been used, including some marks around the bayonet mounts, minor paint wear here and there, etc. The instructions (for a set of three tubes) are showing signs of age but complete, and the caps are in good condition. No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall they're in great shape!

Also fits the Centon DF-300, plus some recent Chinese Soligor and Seagull cameras, which use the Minolta mount.

Auto diaphragm and full-aperture metering, compatible with manual and aperture priority auto exposure on suitable models. Program and/or shutter-priority modes do not "officially" work on the XD, XD5, XD7, XD11 and the X-700 with MC lenses and accessories, though in practice they work fine, but without the correct viewfinder display.

MC manual focus lenses and accessories do NOT fit the Minolta AF, Maxxum, Dynax, Alpha, Vectis or Dimage, Konica Minolta or Sony Alpha digital cameras, or any other make. Adapters are available (not included) to use Minolta MC/MD lenses on Micro Four Thirds digital cameras, with manual focusing and diaphragm operation, using MC or MD lenses.
