This is a pair of genuine Praktica auto extension tubes (made by the camera's manufacturer, Pentacon) which fit between your SLR camera and lens for extra close focusing (macro) shots, up to 0.75x life size or even better. They fit the classic Praktica B (bayonet mount) manual focus SLR cameras including the B200, BMS, BX20 and many more (see below for a full list), and are in nice condition with front and rear caps. Praktica B accessories can also be used with some digital cameras using extra adapters and PB lenses (not included - see below).

Two tubes are supplied - 20mm and 12mm long - and they can be used singly or together. The longer the extension used, the closer you'll get. With a 50mm standard lens at its closest focus setting both tubes will get you to around 0.75x (1:1.33) magnification (between one half and full life size). This is at least as good as many dedicated macro lenses, filling the frame with a subject as small as 32x48mm (1.3x2 inches) on film, and even smaller on many digital cameras. This is ideal for photographing many small objects such as coins, stamps, insects, etc. Even greater magnification is available with wider angle lenses. Longer lenses offer lower magnification, but more comfortable working distances.

The tubes have mechanical and electrical connections to retain the automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering of the original camera and lens combination (where appropriate), so are fast and easy to use, with no extra manual procedures required. Compatible with manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes where available. TTL metering systems (including TTL flash) will take care of the required exposure correction automatically. These tubes are very solidly made (in the former East Germany, marked with the Pentacon symbol and DDR), with metal barrels and lens mounts, and a high standard of fit and finish. They weigh around 170g and will not disgrace your camera outfit.

The tubes are in fully working order, with all linkages working correctly. Cosmetically they look good with a stylish hammer black finish and clean paintwork. There is only the usual evidence that they've been used, including some marks around the bayonet mounts, minor paint wear here and there, etc. The caps are in good condition.

No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall they're in nice shape!

These tubes have the Praktica B electric bayonet mount and fit all 35mm bayonet Praktica cameras including the B100, B200, BMS, BCA, BC-1, BC-3, BCX, BX20, BX20s, BX21 and others. They also fit the Carl Zeiss Jenaflex AC-1 and AM-1 cameras, which use the same Praktica B lens mount. Auto diaphragm and full aperture metering with electrical contacts (a Praktica innovation!), compatible with auto and manual exposure modes.

Praktica B accessories do not fit older Praktica screw mount cameras, or any other makes, though screw lenses can be used with these tubes on PB cameras with an extra adapter (not included).

Praktica B fitting lenses and accessories can be used on some digital cameras with suitable adapters (not included) such as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1, G2, G3, G10, GH1, GH2, GF1, GF2, GF3 and GX1, Olympus Pen E-P1, E-P2, E-P3, E-PL1, E-PL1s, E-PL2, E-PL3, E-PM1, OM-D E-M5 and other Micro Four Thirds, Sony NEX-3, NEX-C3, NEX-5, NEX-5N, NEX-7 and other NEX models, plus many Canon EOS digital cameras using manual focusing and diaphragm operation, in manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes. The effective focal length will be doubled due to the smaller sensor. Not suitable for AF or digital lenses.
