This Ricoh Power Grip 4 is an auto winder (power winder) for the company's XR-P, XR-20SP and KR-30SP manual focus 35mm SLR cameras (but not any other models - see below). It gives continuous winding at up to 1.4 frames per second, and it's compact and lightweight with a grip and shutter release. This one's in good condition, and comes with batteries.

An auto winder is ideal for fast moving subjects such as sports, children and even portraits where you want to take another picture quickly as the subject changes expression. It also means you don't need to take the camera away from your eye to wind on - especially useful for people who use their left eye for viewing.

Integral grip with shutter release improves handling, especially with large, heavy lenses. Built in tripod socket. The winder fits directly onto the camera's base plate, without having to remove any covers, etc. A rewind button is provided so that film can be rewound (manually) without removing the winder. A small fold-out stand on the base helps the camera/winder combination to stand upright.

Solid, high quality construction - made in Japan. The winder adds only around 15mm (0.6 inches) to the height of the camera, and weighs 175g without batteries. Power source is 2x standard AAA batteries which are inexpensive and easily obtainable - disposable Alkaline (supplied) or rechargeable NiCd of NiMH types can be used.

An unusual winder which is a must for Ricoh users and collectors!

Condition: Excellent++ (8/10)
The winder is in good condition, fully working order and all controls operate positively. The finish is good with just the usual signs of use - some surface scratches and scrapes in the plastic finish, paint wear on the attachment screw, etc. There are a couple of small cracks in the plastic and slight play in the grip, but this has no effect on operation. The battery contacts are clean with no sign of corrosion. Overall, it's in good shape! At the time of listing we have more than one of this item, but the pictures and description here are representative of all of them.
