This is a dedicated close up (macro) lens for the Tamron 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 AF (model 71D) and Adaptall 2 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 (model 71A) zoom lenses, which normally only focus down to 2.1m (6.9 feet).

This Tamron Close-Up Adapter Lens (model A9F) reduces the minimum focusing distance from the film plane to 1m (3.3 feet). At this distance you get a macro reproduction ratio of up to 1:4.9 (around one fifth life size) at 200mm, filling the frame with a subject as small as 118x176mm (4.9x7.4 inches) on film, and even smaller on most digital cameras.

It fits onto the front of the lens with a special bayonet fitting, and a second bayonet on the front allows the lens hood (not included) to be fitted at the same time. It is nicely made (in Japan), weighs only around 30g, and adds just 10mm (0.4 inches) to the length of the lens.

An essential accessory for Tamron 28-200mm 71A and 71D users!

Condition: Mint- (almost as new)
The close up lens is in excellent condition. The glass is very clean with no scratches, fungus or other problems but just some specks of dust and other tiny marks as usual, which won't affect the pictures at all. The mount shows only some signs of handling. The case is showing signs of age, but complete. At the time of listing we have more than one of this item, but the pictures and description here are representative of all of them.

This lens is suitable for the Tamron 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 AF zoom lens (model 71D) and the Adaptall 2 manual focus 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 zoom lens (model 71A). These lenses have a 72mm filter thread plus external bayonet accessory mount.

It will not fit any of the later IF or XR versions of these zoom lenses, any other Tamron lenses, or any other makes.
