Teleplus is one of the top converter brands (made by Kenko), and this handy 2x model is for Pentax K, KA, Ricoh XR and many other PK SLR cameras (plus AF models with manual focusing - see below), but not any digital models. It's in very good condition, and comes with case and front/rear caps.

The converter fits between the camera and lens, and doubles the effective focal length. It can be used with just about any lens (except some very wide/old types, where the rear elements protrude too far), but works best with standard, telephoto and zoom lenses. A 50mm standard becomes a 100mm portrait lens, and a reasonably priced 70-210mm becomes a 140-420mm, which would usually be very expensive.

The converter couples to the camera and lens auto diaphragm and full aperture metering systems, and will work in all exposure and metering modes on suitable film cameras (see below), including program. TTL metering systems (including TTL flash) will handle the 2 stops exposure adjustment required automatically. The close focusing distance of the original lens is retained, so you get extra magnification for close ups. A zoom lens that focuses down to 1:4 (one quarter life size) on its own will manage 1:2 (half life size) with the converter.

This 2x KAX Teleplus MC converter is nicely made (in Japan) with metal lens mounts, rubber grip, and a high standard of fit and finish. Multicoated (MC) glass to reduce flare and light loss, and increase contrast. It adds only around 25mm (1 inch) to the length of the lens attached, and weighs a mere 85g.

The converter is in fully working order, with all couplings working smoothly. The glass is very clean with no scratches, misting, fungus or other problems, but just some specks of dust and other tiny marks as usual, which won't affect the pictures at all. Cosmetically, there is only the usual evidence that it's been used, with small surface scratches and scrapes here and there, marks on the bayonet mounts, etc. The case and caps are a slightly tight fit, but in good condition.

No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall it's in nice shape!

This converter is Pentax KA and Ricoh (PKA/R) fitting, for manual focus bayonet Pentax 35mm SLR cameras including the KM, KX, K2, K1000, ME, MX, ME Super, ME-F, MG, MV, MV-1, LX, Super A (Super Program), Program A (Program Plus), P30 (P3) series, P50 (P5), A3000 (A3) and others. It fits all Ricoh K-mount cameras, including the KR-5, KR-10, KR-10 Super, KR-10X, XR-1, XR-2, XR-X (XR-M), XR-X 3000, XR-P and many other XR and KR models. In both cases, the mechanical and electronic connections of camera and lens are maintained for auto diaphragm, full aperture metering and all exposure modes including program/shutter priority where available. It also fits numerous Chinons (with program modes on all suitable models, including the CP-9AF), Cosinas, Vivitars and a huge variety of other cameras using the popular PK lens mount.

The converter fits most Pentax AF SLR cameras including the SFX (SF1), SFXn (SF1n), SF7, Z-1 (PZ-1), Z-1P (PZ-1P), Z-10 (PZ-10), Z-20 (PZ-20), Z-70 (PZ-70), MZ-3, MZ-5 (ZX-5), MZ-5n (ZX-5n), MZ-6 (ZX-L), MZ-7 (ZX-7), MZ-10 (ZX-10), MZ-30 (ZX-30), MZ-50 (ZX-50), MZ-S and *ist. Please note that while most KA lenses and accessories fit and work with Pentax and Samsung GX digital SLR cameras, this one DOES NOT work fully. The electrical signals aren't carried through correctly, so the converter acts as if it's PK fitting, with exposure mode and metering restrictions.
