A lens hood provides shading for the front element of your lens, excluding extraneous light which can cause unwanted reflections, flare and loss of contrast. This one fits the Vivitar 70-210mm f/3.5 Series 1 zoom lens with 67mm filter thread, and is collapsible for storage.

The hood is solidly made from rubber with a ribbed matt black finish inside, and a metal ring and screw, clamping onto the front of the lens. It measures around 50mm (2 inches) long when extended, 20mm (0.8 inches) when collapsed, 105mm (4.1 inches) in diameter and weighs around 75g.

Compatibility
There have been several versions of the Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm lens, and this hood is designed for the very first f/3.5 version ONLY, with 67mm filter thread and separate macro ring/switch. It will NOT fit the second f/3.5 version with 62mm filter thread, or the f/2.8-4 models.
