Vivitar TX auto lenses can be fitted to a wide range of manual focus 35mm SLR cameras (and some AF types, with limitations), using the appropriate TX lens mount. If you change your camera - or use multiple types - you can easily swap the mount.

With a suitable camera and TX lens mount, they can provide every modern feature (except - usually - autofocus), including automatic diaphragm and full aperture metering - see below. The TX interchangeable mount uses a breech-lock bayonet system to connect lens and mount, and internal levers to operate with the auto diaphragm, full aperture metering and auto exposure systems of suitable cameras.

Some camera systems have aperture rings that turn clockwise to stop down, and some operate counter-clockwise. To compensate for this, TX lenses have aperture rings with two scales, and maximum aperture in the middle. With a mount fitted, the ring will only turn one way, using the correct scale.

This is an auto lens mount to fit Vivitar TX interchangeable-mount lenses onto Contax/Yashica manual focus SLR cameras, and the autofocus AX (see below). Auto diaphragm and full-aperture metering, compatible with manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes (Contax), and all exposure modes (Yashica). A setting on the rear of the mount can be adjusted to suit the maximum aperture of the lens, for suitable cameras to display aperture settings correctly in the viewfinder.

NOT compatible with the Contax N-series AF cameras, or Yashica AF models (though see below). NOT compatible with the earlier Vivitar, Soligor (and other) T4 or T2 lenses, or any other make.

Condition: Mint- (almost as new)
The mount is in fully working order, and all couplings operate correctly. It's in very nice condition, with only normal signs of use but no dents, dings or deep scratches. The box is a little scruffy, but complete.

Compatibility
Fits Contax SLR cameras including the RTS, RTS II, 139 Quartz, 137MD, 137MA, S2 and S2b. Fits other models such as the RTS III, 159MM, 167MT, ST, RX, RX II, AX and Aria, too, but without program or shutter-priority modes. Multi-segment metering on the Aria, focus confirmation on the RX, and autofocus on the Contax AX! Works with all Yashica cameras using the Contax/Yashica bayonet mount, with all modes, including program where available. This includes models such as the FX-1, FX-2, FX-3 series, FX-7, FX-70, FX-103, FX-D, FR, FR-1, FR-2 and MP107/108/109.

Contax/Yashica lenses do NOT fit the Contax N-series AF models such as the N-1, NX and N Digital, Contax G cameras or any other Contax models. Can be used on the Yashica autofocus models including the AF200, 230, 270 and 300 with the use of the Yashica 1.6x AF converter (not included), with auto focusing! Not suitable for older Yashica screw thread cameras, or the very early Pentamatic bayonet models.
