This simple adapter allows you to use hundreds of Nikon-fit lenses for close ups only on your Minolta AF 35mm, Konica Minolta 35mm or digital SLRs, and Sony Alpha DSLR or SLT cameras. On many models (see the Compatibility section below for a full list) you can use aperture priority automatic or manual exposure modes, with stopped down metering.
It's suitable for the vast majority of Nikon, Nikkor and independent lenses in Nikon fittings, including manual focus AI, pre-AI and E-series, plus AF and AF-D auto focus lenses (with manual focusing). It's NOT suitable for Nikkor AF-G, DX, 1 Series or IX, Sigma DC, Tamron Di-II, Tokina DX or other lenses which have no aperture rings.
IMPORTANT - FOR CLOSE FOCUSING ONLY
Adapters like this (with no glass elements) do not allow focusing to infinity, and are usable for close up shooting only. The range of usable distances will depend on the focal length of the lens and its minimum focusing distance. The shorter the lens the close it will focus, so wide angles are only usable for macro, standard lenses at a few inches, and longer lenses work further away (but never to infinity). We've checked it with a 35mm lens (which focuses from around 120mm to 80mm or 5 to 3 inches from the front glass) and a 70-210mm (around 3.5 to 1.5 meters or 12 to 4 feet). Please check our other listings for similar adapters with glass elements that retain infinity focusing.
This generic (unbranded) adapter is only 13.5mm (0.5 inches) deep when mounted, and weighs just 55g. You can either fit the adapter to the lens first (and mount it just like an original lens), or to the camera (and fit lenses into it).
A handy adapter for Minolta AF users with many Nikon lenses.
Condition: Excellent+++ (8.5/10)
The adapter is in very good condition and fully working order. It fits smoothly onto suitable cameras and lenses, though there's a small amount of play, which is common and doesn't cause any problems. Cosmetically there are just the normal signs of use including some surface marks here and there - mainly on the bayonet mounts where it's been fitted to cameras and lenses.
No dents, dings or deep scratches, and overall it's in nice shape.

Compatibility
This adapter fits most A-Mount Minolta AF 35mm, Konica Minolta 35mm, 5D and 7D digital plus many Sony Alpha digital SLR cameras. Most film cameras work with stopped down metering in manual and aperture priority auto exposure modes, but models with program modes only are not suitable for manual lenses or accessories. The Sony Alpha A33, A35, A37, A55, A57, A58, A65, A77, A99, A100, A560, A580 and A700 (plus the A850 and A900 with firmware 2.0 or higher) work with stopped down metering in aperture priority automatic or metered manual exposure modes. Other Alpha DSLR cameras (the A200, A230, A290, A300, A330, A350, A380, A390, A450, A500 and A550) work in metered manual mode only. Most of these cameras require setting up for manual lens operation, either by changing an option in the menu system (set "release w/o lens" to "on" for digital) or pressing a combination of buttons while turning on (film cameras).
Please note that it's NOT suitable for Minolta manual focus SLRs, Sony E-Mount cameras such as the NEX, A7, A3000, A5000, A6000, or any other makes or models.
The adapter accepts most Nikkor lenses in Nikon F (pre-AI), AI, AI-S, E, AF and AF-D fittings, plus most independent lenses in these mounts.
Please note that the lens must have its own mechanical aperture ring, or it will only work at the minimum aperture. It's NOT suitable for Nikon AF-G, DX, PC-E, 1 series digital or IX APS lenses, independent types with no aperture ring such as Tokina DX, Tamron Di-II or Sigma DC, or any other makes.
