A genuine Fuji flash unit for the FZ-2000 Zoom (Discovery 2000 Zoom) 35mm compact camera, boxed with instructions and batteries
The Fuji FZ-2000 Zoom (sold in some countries as the Fuji Discovery 2000 Zoom) was a 35mm compact camera with built in 40-105mm zoom lens and flash. This is an Accessory Flash II that clips on top of the camera, offering extended range and an anti-redeye pre-flash option. It's simple to use, and the instruction leaflet is included.
To fit the flash, clip it onto the camera's top plate and eyepiece surround (from behind), and snap the mounting lever under the camera. Switch the flash on, and wait for the ready light on the rear to come on.
The power switch has two positions, and the Extend mode provides more power than the camera's built in flash (up to 10m or 32 feet with ISO 400 film). The Pre-Flash mode has the same range as the camera's flash, but fires a flash just before the picture is taken to reduce the effect of redeye.
The flash adds around 35mm (1.5 inches) to the height of the camera, and weighs just 90g (without batteries). Power is supplied by 2x standard disposable Alkaline AA batteries (one set is included).
An essential accessory for Fuji FZ-2000 Zoom users or collectors.
Condition: Excellent+++ (8.5/10)
The flash is in very good condition with just the usual surface marks here and there in the plastic finish. The controls operate positively, and the flash charges and fires correctly. The battery contacts are clean with no sign of corrosion, the box is showing signs of age with some tears but complete, while the instructions are in good condition.
No cracks, splits or deep scratches, and overall it's in nice shape.
Pictures in this listing show the actual flash offered for sale.
Boxed with instructions, plus 2x Alkaline AA batteries
Compatibility
This flash fits directly onto the Fuji FZ-2000 Zoom (sold in some countries as the Fuji Discovery 2000 Zoom).
As it uses a special fitting, it is NOT compatible with any other Fuji, Fujica or Fujifilm cameras, or any other makes.
